3MarBig & Small Business Working Together

Posted on 3/03/2015 by Nine2Three

Both the NSW and the Federal government see the advantages in working with small business for procurement and contracts.  This is because small business is the backbone of the economy for Australia in terms of employment, size of the sector and growth opportunities.

In NSW alone, small business employs more than 1.8 million people in metropolitan and regional areas and in 2013 more than $16 billion in government contracts was awarded to SME’s.

Many small businesses like Nine2Three hold, as we do, Government Contracts in their areas of speciality. To move through a Government Tender process, be rated against selection criteria and be awarded the tender, any business must have sound management, strong infrastructure and depth of organisation.

The government understands that in working with small business they recognise local industry expertise, enhance competitiveness and reap the rewards in cost effectiveness.

On a value for money basis, most small businesses offer superior service, expertise and cost effectiveness.

With a business like ours, I often say we are large enough to be stable and offer permanence, yet small enough to be nimble, flexible and have personalised service.

Many of our government clients read our newsletters and this is a timely reminder to utilise our services. For new clients, you might be surprised at the depth of service available from businesses such as Nine2Three. We rely on our clients returning to us again an again, so when you work with a small business, you are never just a number.

Small business generally have a lower rate of staff attrition, so the consultant who deals with you today will more than likely deal with you tomorrow. We have in the past worked with our large corporate clients and seen their HR teams come and go, while we have remained the only constant in their human resource department.

We find that many of our larger clients come to us to find other small businesses that they can utilise and are often asking us to recommend a web designer, graphic designer, or other similar businesses when they have specific needs.

If you are reading this and working in Corporate Australia, State or Federal Government look to your own SME network and give us a go! Small Business – backbone of the country – that’s us!
