28JulWhy your business needs experts

Posted on 28/07/2016 by Nine2Three

Large organisations have a range of workers at varying levels. There is always someone above and below you. The positive of this is that there is always someone to whom you can turn or at least someone who will review your work and hopefully give you feedback. However, in a small business scenario, the chain of command is much shorter and the levels of business and work experience are much less. The negative of this is that there may be a dearth of seniors to whom you can turn for advice.

Most people start in business because they are good at something. They are an excellent plumber, caterer, accountant or designer. This does not mean that they know everything about running a business. While the business owner may be a great person to go to in order to ask about the product or the process in regards to  doing a task, they may not be the best person to ask about the consequences of additional liabilities on the balance sheet, how to manage an internally disintegrating culture or how to take the business to the next level.

This is why all businesses need to engage with experts in a wide variety of fields in order to grow their organisations and increase skills in areas that are lacking. I have been working in HR and Recruitment for many years, but never feel that I possess all the answers. I regularly engage with other professionals, who can assist me with their specific expertise.

Our corporate division has a large number of professionals on our database who have the capabilities to work with businesses in a range of areas. For example, Chief Financial Officers, with years of experience, that would normally be outside of the price range for a small business, but can be contracted for a specific period of time to work with you on particular issues. This could be around correcting an issue, providing advice or setting up systems and processes to carry your business forward.

Perhaps you are looking to take your business to the next level and attract some capital funding, but need to know where to start. What sort of systems should you be using, how should you structure your business and how best to approach equity partners?

Basically there is an expert who could assist you with whatever your small business issue is, based on a contracted time period, where you would know the cost up front and be able to manage the project. You have the choice of whom you use, in the same way we offer choice for all our placements. Our MC candidates are senior candidates with years of expertise in specific areas and can bring that knowledge and acumen to your business.

Let us know what your needs are and let Nine2Three’s MC division deliver.
