10MarAustralia’s biggest BUSINESS Morning Tea 2017 is coming

Posted on 10/03/2017 by Nine2Three

When Nine2Three turned 10 years old in 2013, we wanted to celebrate in some way, make a statement and give back to society.  We considered Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, a Cancer Council fund raiser, and wondered about all the workplaces too small to make much money from their own morning tea with a couple of staff.

What if we hosted the morning tea for all of them and collectively small businesses could make a greater impact on Cancer Research?

We added the word 'BUSINESS' and Australia's Biggest  BUSINESS Morning Tea was born!

I recall a team member discussing the event in the office and saying ‘ Who would come’? We hoped that maybe we could get around 50 people in a room to raise some money.

We were blown away that first year, when we had 120 register and the growth has been non stop since then.

The idea took flight, and from our first success in 2013, the event has gained more and more momentum. 2015 was a huge success! With the help of 300 attendees and dozens of wonderful business sponsors, we managed to raise over $24 thousand for the Cancer Council!

In 2015 and 2016, Australia's Biggest  BUSINESS Morning Tea was the Cancer Councils fastest growing event in NSW.

In 2015 our speaker was Alex Malley, CEO of CPA Australia, 2014 was Steve Sargent, CEO of GE and in 2013 we had Craig James, Chief Economist from Commsec. 2016 was no less exciting - we had three brilliant business owners telling us their secrets!

2016 was the best in Business learning, networking, branding and of course fund raising with our raising over $31 thousand! Many people said that 2016 was the best one ever!

The problem with success of this kind, is that it leaves high expectations for the next year! In 2017 we have a change of venue and will be enjoying a fabulous morning tea at the beautiful Doltone House in Sylvania Waters.

For 2017, we are so excited to announce that we have secured Michele Bullock, Assistant Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia as our Key Note Speaker. Michele is responsible for the Bank's work on financial stability, including production of the twice-yearly Financial Stability Review, as well as the Bank's oversight of the payments system. Prior to her current position, Michele held a variety of senior management positions in the Bank. Most recently she held the position of Assistant Governor (Business Services). She was also Assistant Governor (Currency), Adviser for the Currency Group and, before that, she was Head of Payments Policy Department.

Michele will be sharing with us some thoughts on the Australian financial system and the forces shaping recent developments, potential risks to the Australian economy and financial system, and some of the significant changes occurring in the payments and technology space that small business should be aware of.

Australia’s biggest BUSINESS Morning Tea has opportunities for everyone to be involved from just buying a ticket and coming along to sponsorship.

Our sponsorship packages range from major sponsors, right down to the ability to add your marketing to the show bags the 300 attendees will receive. Sponsorship prices also vary and are structured to cater for everyone from free items (the ability to donate your products or services to our silent auction, receiving branding and mention) through to being a major sponsor with the ability to speak for a few moments at the event.

Visit www.nine2three.com.au/abbmt to book your tickets to attend, or email kathryn@nine2three.com.au to receive sponsorship information.
