At Nine2Three we believe in giving back. Basically we are very grateful. Grateful for our business, that has worked successfully for so many years. Grateful for our team, that inspires and supports each other day in, day out. Grateful for our clients, who return to us over and over again, and grateful for health and happiness and to live in this great country.
So each year we try to give back. We exercise our social corporate responsibility by organising and running Australia’s Biggest BUSINESS Morning Tea. We want to give back to society and leave a legacy for small businesses to follow that shows that together we can make a difference.
One in two Australian men and one in three Australian women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. This means that it will affect all of us. Basically one third or half- One third or half of our work colleagues; One third or half of our friends; One third or half of our family. Sobering thought.
What could a small business do to help the community fight the leading cause of death in Australia? On our own, possibly not much, but by running an event and joining together with other local businesses, we can be a very powerful force.
Together we can raise more money for cancer research, highlight cancer prevention and support current cancer sufferers.
Australia’s Biggest BUSINESS Morning Tea is a premier Business Networking Event to enable local businesses to come together, network, and do business, while having fun and raising money for a fantastic cause.
Last year we had 180 attendees, over 20 business sponsors, networking partners, media coverage and most importantly raised over $10, 000 for the Cancer Council. 2015 will be bigger and better again!
This year the morning tea is held on Thursday 28th May at Cronulla Sharks Leagues Club and will be a fabulous event for business people to attend. With a high profile guest speaker, games, raffles and business networking, it is the only place to be.
For us at Nine2Three, it is a huge undertaking. We give hours of work to the event, supply all the staff on the day, market through the media, collect prizes and manage sponsors. The work for a May event commences in January each year. But we will never give it up.
Many people fear cancer, and think that a diagnosis can only mean bad things. However I always recall my father, a cancer survivor who lived on for another 20 years only eventually succumbing to old age, after a wonderful and long life. ‘Kath, never be afraid of Cancer – it is only a word’.
